Privacy Policy
Version of 01.11.2026
1. General
This policy explains how MeetCubing (meetcubing.com) processes users' personal data in accordance with Russian Federal Law No. 152-FZ “On Personal Data”.
The personal data operator is Ilya Sokolov. Questions about personal data: admin@isokolov.tech.
2. Data we process
- Account data: first and last name, email address, country, city, password (stored only as a hash; if you sign in with WCA or Google, you do not have to set one).
- Optional profile data: WCA ID, RSF ID, Telegram username.
- Participation data: competition registrations, attempt and round results, ranking positions.
- Data from sign-in services: if you sign in with WCA or Google — your account number in that service, your first and last name and email address, and from WCA also your country and WCA ID (see section 6).
- Settings: interface language and time zone.
- Technical data: IP address, browser information, cookies (see section 7).
3. Purposes
- signing up, signing in (including with a WCA or Google account) and password recovery;
- submitting competition registrations and their review by organizers;
- receiving, checking and publishing results, maintaining rankings and records;
- sending service emails (email confirmation, decisions on registrations and results);
- protecting the site from abuse (limiting sign-in and sign-up attempts);
- visit statistics to improve the site — only with your consent to analytics cookies.
4. Legal basis
We process data on the basis of your consent given when you sign up (consent text) and to perform the agreement on using the site.
5. What other users can see
The site publishes competition results. Every visitor can see: first and last name, country and city, WCA ID and RSF ID, results and ranking positions. Your Telegram username is visible only to signed-in users and to organizers of competitions you register for. Your email address is never published.
6. Storage and sharing
- Data is stored on a server located in the Russian Federation.
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties, except as listed below or required by law.
- Emails are sent through the hosting provider's mail service.
- Signing in with WCA and Google. When you click “Continue with WCA” or “Continue with Google”, you go to that service — World Cube Association (USA) or Google LLC (USA) — and sign in there. The service shares with us only the data you allow on its page: your account number, first and last name and email address, and WCA also your country and WCA ID. The email address is considered confirmed by that service. We never receive your WCA or Google password, and we do not share your activity on MeetCubing with these services. Signing in on their sites is governed by their rules: WCA privacy policy, Google privacy policy. If there is no MeetCubing account with this email yet, one is created only after you check your details and give consent to their processing; if there is one, the service is linked to it.
- If you allow analytics cookies, anonymised visit information (pages, device, approximate location) is sent to Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA). This is a cross-border data transfer; it does not happen without your consent.
- Visit statistics are collected with Yandex Metrica (YANDEX LLC, Russia; data is stored in Russia): pages, device, approximate location and a recording of actions on the page (Session Replay) — navigation, clicks and scrolling. Passwords and payment form data are not recorded. You can opt out with a browser blocker or following Yandex's instructions.
- Data is kept while your account exists or until you withdraw consent. After an account is deleted, competition results may be kept in anonymised form as part of the competition history.
7. Cookies

sessionid— signing in;csrftoken— protection of forms against request forgery;django_language— the selected language;tz— your time zone, to show competition times in your local time;cookie_consent— your choice in the cookie notice.
Statistics — _ym_* (Yandex Metrica): set when you visit the site.
Analytics — _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics). Set only if you click “Accept all”.
You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of the page.
8. Your rights
You can:
